Maksym Petrov - diplomat, a human rights analyst.

M. Petrov is PhD in political science. In 2009, he began his career as a diplomat in the Republic of Moldova, where he took care of the problem of ensuring the rights of Ukrainian citizens.

Having chosen human rights as a field of activity, he focused himself on the research of situation with human rights protection in Ukraine: the right to information, the rights of people with disabilities, the human rights of vulnerable social groups, the rights of IDPs and persons living in temporarily occupied territories, etc.

Maksym organized and participated in international conferences and round tables on issues of transitional post-conflict justice, non-discrimination, rights of IDPs, human rights of sex workers and the LGBT community, etc.

Within the framework of cooperation between civil society and the authorities, Maksym participated in working groups on the introduction of changes into the compensation procedure for property damage; development of a training course for police officers in the field of human rights; on the analysis of the police practice on hate crimes prevention; on the study of the security of peaceful assemblies on the topic of LGBT, etc.

Maksym Petrov is the author of more than 30 articles in the field of interstate relations and human rights.
